New Nissan Fairlady Z (400Z) - rendering

Nissan has already teased us with the upcoming Fairlady Z (400Z) and this rendering may be very close to the real deal. The rear lights seems influenced by 300ZX Z32 and it will be very nice if that's true!

Nissan Fairlady Z (Z31) / 300ZX by ignition model

This is one of the last ignition models arrived from Japan for this year, and as usual, the level of detail is very impressive indeed! It is a very nice addition to my collection, especially when displayed next to the Z32 model I already got by ignition (earlier post). The specific model has lowered suspension, 16" wheels, front lip spoiler, rear spoiler, large-diameter single muffler and Recaro seats.

Nissan Fairlady Z (Z32) / 300ZX scale model!

My first ignition model was a Nissan Skyline 2000 GTS-R R31, bought last year, and I was really amazed by the quality and finish of the actual model. Also, it was very difficult to find the R31 and back then, it was the only model missing from my Skyline collection.

A few days ago, I came across with this beautiful version of the Fairlady Z (Z32) by ignition model, and although I already did have the Z32 in my collection (earlier post), I couldn't resist...! I am very glad that I bought it as it is truly a fantastic model!!!

Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) scale model by HPI

This HPI scale model of the Nissan Fairlady Z Z34 (aka 370Z) arrived today, but unfortunately it is damaged as the steering column has been broken. Anyway, I just thought that it would be nice to post some photos of it before returning it back. The level of detail is really impressive!

More photos after the jump!

New Fairlady Z Z35 (390Z) coming in 2013!

In the "A glimpse of upcoming Prius V, Fit Wagon & facelifted Fairlady Z (370Z)" post, I mistakably wrote that on the cover of the latest BC issue, the facelifted Fairlady Z (Z34) was shown.

Well, the particular rendering is BC's impression of the all-new Fairlady Z (Z35), which will go into production in 2013.

Check out my blog soon, as some very interesting material is underway straight from Japan!!!

Nissan Fairlady Z (300ZX) concept for sale on eBay

A Nissan Fairlady Z Z32 (aka 300ZX) - one of nicest Japanese sports cars in my opinion - convertible is not big news, however one with a folding hardtop is! The production cabriolet version went on sale in 1993, along with the T-top and standard versions, but before this, in 1991 Nissan produced a concept version that was shown at a number of auto shows. The concept featured a power-folding, retractable hardtop.

The concept was built  with American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) and it is now for sale on eBay, with a Buy-It-Now price of $62,000. Power is provided by the standard 3.0L V6, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car has only 8,202 miles on the clock. According to the seller's listing, the original build cost was in excess of $800,000.

And just some history... Nissan utilized the Cray-II supercomputer to completely design the 300ZX with a form of CAD software. This made the 300ZX one of the first production cars to be developed in a CAD program!

Nissan tweaks Fairlady Z (370Z)

Nissan will do some minor changes on the Fairlady Z (370Z) in Japan. Changes will include two new exterior colours, a new A/C dial switch and a new shift indicator on the auto models.

The Nismo version will get more significant enhancements as the power will go up by 19 hp, while better tuned dampers and improved reinforced parts designed by Yamaha will be fitted.
